Close Encounters with Music is an enriching concert experience that brings together sublime chamber music, distinguished performers and insightful commentary. Putting the composers and their times in perspective, cellist and Artistic Director Yehuda Hanani introduces the program from the stage. Soaring with melody, echoes of Viennese popular music and life-affirming energy, Grand Piano Trios features Hanani, violinist Erin Keefe and pianist Jeffrey Swann performing Franz Schubert’s Trio No. 1 in B-flat Major, one of the pinnacles of the chamber-music literature, and Paul Schoenfield’s Café Music, one of classical music’s most popular works that combines ingredients of jazz, klezmer and whimsy. Free for Students!
