Video from ARTrageous 2011:

Throughout her illustrious career, Bernadette Peters has dazzled audiences and critics with her performances on stage and screen. An artist with amazing versatility, she also has become known as one of the foremost interpreters of the songs of legendary composer Stephen Sondheim. Peters has been nominated for seven Tony Awards, winning twice for Song and Dance and Annie Get Your Gun. She recently received the Isabelle Stevenson Award at the 66th Tony Awards ceremony for her humanitarian work.

Accompanied by her longtime arranger and musical director, Marvin Laird, Peters will perform classic Broadway songs and standards at this annual gala extravaganza benefiting the dynamic and diverse performances, exhibitions and arts education/outreach programs of Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.

The ARTrageous gala will begin with a cocktail reception and silent auction with local entertainment. Guests will be able to view the latest exhibitions at SMoCA before enjoying a seated gourmet dinner inside The Center's Dayton Fowler Grafman Atrium, followed by Bernadette Peters’ performance in the Virginia G. Piper Theater and a post-show dessert reception. (A limited number of tickets for the concert only also are available. “ARTrageous” or cocktail attire is suggested.)
