Dancers will have the opportunity to learn the technical foundations of the most popular Latin dances, taught by Ron Montez. A partner is not required, however couples are welcomed. The one and a half hour class will be held inside of the Virginia G. Piper Theater. Once dancers have completed the class, they will have the opportunity to part-take in the open dance session located on the grounds of the Civic Center Mall. Dancers will be able to showcase their new and learnt skills to the live music of Scottsdale Latin Jazz Festival Community Stage, while enjoying the festivities of the Scottsdale Latin Jazz Festival.
Ron Montez Bio:
Ron Montez is one of the most respected personalities in the Dance business. He was the 7-time undefeated United States Professional Latin Champion. He also placed as high as 4th place in the World's Professional Latin Championship and was a finalist in the prestigious British Championship. He is recognized as coach and choreographer in both American and International Styles including Swing and Mambo. Ron is the Co-Host of the PBS Championships Ballroom Dance Program, which was hosted by Rita Moreno, the late Juliet Prowse, Barbara Eden, Sandy Duncan and Jasmine Guy.
Class Fee: $10 per dancer, $15 per couple.
