A popular favorite among residents and visitors, Sunday A'Fair is a free afternoon arts festival that takes place on the beautiful grounds of the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall, adjacent to the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. Now in its 19th season, the event features concerts and performances by the Valley's top entertainers, a diverse selection of arts and crafts available for sale, hands-on activities for children and families and free docent-guided tours of the sculptures on the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall. Seating is available on the lawn, and portable chairs and picnic baskets are welcome. Food and refreshments are also available for purchase. Bring your family and friends and make it a Sunday A'Fair!

LOCATION AND PARKING

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts is located at 7380 East Second Street in downtown Scottsdale , four blocks south of Indian School Road and three blocks east of Scottsdale Road . The amphitheater is located on the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall at 75th Street and Main Street . Free parking is available in the public parking garage located to the west of Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and directly behind Los Olivos restaurant on Wells Fargo Avenue . Additional free parking is available at the Old Town Parking Corral at East Second Street and Brown Avenue and at the Civic Center Library parking garage located on Drinkwater Boulevard at East Second Street .

JANUARY 6, 2008

Noon 1:30 p.m.
The Almost Faymus Band
A favorite among festival-goers, The Almost Faymus Band performs acoustic rock with a southwestern flavor.

2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Cold Shott and the Hurricane Horns
Voted the Valley's “Best Blues Band” in 2000 by The Arizona Republic, Cold Shott and The Hurricane Horns perform a mix of classic and contemporary R&B, soul, rock, funk and jazz.

JANUARY 13, 2008

Noon 1:30 p.m.
Jeordie
The daughter of ‘60s singing sensation Melanie, Jeordie gives deep, friendly advice through her music, a blend of modern pop themes and folk-rock guitar.

2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Alice Tatum
A fixture in the Phoenix music scene known for her amazing versatility, Alice Tatum has a repertoire of popular songs that includes rousing dance numbers, timeless standards and intimate ballads.

JANUARY 20, 2008 – Peace and Community Day

A day of unity in conjunction with the Scottsdale Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration. Presented by Community Celebrating Diversity, the City of Scottsdale and the Scottsdale Unified School District .

Andy Margolis Trio
Jazz pianist Andy Margolis leads this high-energy combo that was voted “Best Piano Trio” by the listeners of KJZZ in 2005.

Nancy Gee
Jazz vocalist Nancy Gee has been entertaining Valley audiences for more than 20 years with her sultry ballads and classic standards.

Mark Zubia
The veteran leader of the Pistoleros and Los Guys, Mark Zubia draws on a heady mix of roots, country, and classic pop traditions but never forsakes his rough-hewn charm and rock-and-roll spirit.

Big Nick and the Gila Monsters
Together since 1994, Big Nick & the Gila Monsters play good-time, partying blues with style and a touch of attitude.

FEBRUARY 17, 2008

Sarah Vanell
With her contemporary folk style, vocalist Sarah Vanell sings captivating originals and covers by Judy Collins, The Cranberries, Dido and others.

2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The Jeff Hunt Band
Fronted by guitarist Jeff Hunt, this six-member ensemble performs acoustic rock with an alternative edge.

Tia's Royal Islanders
With the warm spirit of aloha, Tia's Royal Islanders showcase traditional Polynesian music, hula and fire dances.

Mikioi
This upbeat duo bring a dose of island culture to Arizona with their warm “Jawaiian” sound, a blend of Jamaican reggae and Hawaiian songs.

Axé Capoeira Arizona
Axé Capoeira Arizona thrills audiences with its exhilarating display of capoeira, a rhythmic martial-art dance that originated in Brazil .

2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Quetzal Guerrero
Virtuoso violinist and vocalist Quetzal Guerrero masterfully mixes up a hip-hop and Latin jazz musical concoction. In this special performance, he returns to the Valley to share the stage with members of the popular Latin dance band Zúm Zúm Zúm.

MARCH 23, 2008

Blackwood
Blackwood features traditional Celtic instrumental sets with an exciting mix of traditional and contemporary songs, including Irish, Scottish, country and folk.

2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Bríd Dower
Bríd Dower developed her singing talents performing on the streets and in local pubs in her native Ireland . Now based in Phoenix , she brings her unique style of Irish music to the Sonoran desert.

Sruti
Since 1985, Sruti has served up a smorgasbord of Indian musical genres, including ragas, folk songs and dances.

2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Traveler
This enticing ensemble offers a fusion of world styles influenced by the exotic sounds of Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Gypsy and Celtic music.

APRIL 6, 2008 – Show Your LOVE @ Sunday A'Fair!

In conjunction with Sunday A'Fair, the Scottsdale Public Art Program has commissioned a special Love Button project from conceptual artist Gregory Sale, who works with the theme of love and audience participation, to spark some collective contemplation. Each visitor will receive a free Love Button inscribed with a message, which can be traded with a neighbor or exchanged at the “Have More Love” booth next to Robert Indiana' LOVE sculpture.

Walt Richardson
Known as the godfather of the Valley's reggae scene, Walt Richardson is a captivating class act whose music is infused with folk, blues and world rhythms.

2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Sistah Blue
Founded in 1995, the all-woman band Sistah Blue is consistently recognized as one of the Valley's favorite blues and classic R&B groups.
