About This Event

Returning for his 40th season in Scottsdale, acclaimed pianist Jeffrey Siegel makes the joy of music accessible to audiences of all ages. His brilliantly engaging concerts with commentary combine captivating remarks with world-class performances of masterpieces of the piano repertoire, and conclude with a fast-paced Q-and-A session.

Though born in Poland, Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849) spent most of his professional life in Paris, where he composed beloved waltzes, polonaises and mazurkas, as well as the enchanting Barcarolle. To this day, Paris offers tours of the places Chopin lived and worked. Pianist and commentator Jeffrey Siegel explores the influence of the City of Light on Chopin, both in its cultural life and in its role as the site of his exile from Poland.

The Denver Post writes of Siegel: “…a pianist with a bravura technique and a big, gorgeous sound…and when the artist himself offers the inside scoop, the musical experience becomes vastly more personal.”
