How much has really changed in the United States’ relationship with Cuba? How do Cubans see the future of U.S.-Cuba relations? Join us for a conversation with Carlos Alzugaray Treto, former ambassador of Cuba to the European Union, independent political analyst, educator and writer.

Born in Havana in 1943, Treto has a master’s degree in contemporary history and a doctorate in the history of international relations. During a 35-year career with the Cuban Foreign Service, Treto served in Cuban embassies and consulates in Japan, Bulgaria, Argentina, Canada, Ethiopia and Belgium. He also worked as adviser to the Cuban foreign minister on global political affairs and is an award-winning writer with three books and more than 100 articles, essays and book chapters to his name.

  • Free Tickets for Veterans, Students and Teachers: The Center provides free tickets to selected events for eligible veterans, students and teachers. A valid student ID, teacher ID or proof of military service is required. Tickets are limited and must be requested by phone or in person at the box office.

The Discovery Series

  • Discovery Cuba: Each year, the Discovery Series takes audiences on an artistic journey around the globe. Embracing a multitude of artistic disciplines, it extends throughout the Center’s 2018–19 Season and includes performances, events, exhibitions and a spring culmination festival.
